About JWT
- • JWTs consist of three parts: Header, Payload, Signature
- • Header contains algorithm (alg) and token type (typ)
- • Payload contains claims (sub, iss, exp, iat, etc.)
- • Signature verifies the token hasn't been tampered with
- • HS256: HMAC with SHA-256 (symmetric key)
- • RS256: RSA with SHA-256 (asymmetric keys)
- • ES256: ECDSA with P-256 and SHA-256
- • All processing happens in your browser
